About Us
Originally from Williamstown, Massachusetts, Matt attended Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, where he studied American history and environmental studies. After graduation, Matt moved to Anchorage, Alaska, where he worked as a paralegal in a private firm acting as liaison counsel for the thousands of plaintiffs in the Exxon Valdez oil spill litigation.
Jennifer was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, and studied French and economics at Occidental College in Los Angeles, California. After college, she first worked at Bank of America in Los Angeles in the foreclosure department and then joined an environmental remediation firm in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Matt and Jennifer finally crossed paths at Vermont Law School when Matt mustered up the courage to ask Jennifer to join his study group. The two have basically been inseparable ever since! They married in 1997 and moved to the US Virgin Islands for a working honeymoon before returning to Manchester late in the fall of 1998. Since then, they have raised three incredible daughters while running their law practice. Matt limits his practice to commercial and residential real estate transactions and business law. Jennifer’s practice is limited to drafting short-term, residential, and commercial leases as well as general contracts. Jennifer also serves as the Chair of the Vermont State Board of Education.
